I think mixing the Presidency with an event like this is just wrong. Showing up at stuff like Sesame Street or even Dr. Oz is fine cause those are at their intent trying to be informational shows. The Oscars are just a self-attention jizz fest.

I know it's just the First Lady but she still represents the Presidency and stuff like this to me just sets bad precedence. Are future first ladies, Democrat or Republican, now all going to be invited to present at the Oscars? Will the President do it in the future? It just doesn't feel right.

Those right-wingers who feel as if Obama is trying to be more controlling and monarch-like get more fuel with shit like this. Granted, they overblow it far more than what it is but the Presidency shouldn't help fuel it. There's no need for something like this except for your own self-attention. Which is kinda strange to have considering you're the First Lady so why the hell are you even seeking to have a bigger audience.

I blame this more on the First Lady too cause she should be smart enough to decline the offer from the Academy. The Academy is just a ratings attention-seeking whore. The First Lady should have seen through that and not taken apart of the ceremony.
