Have already seen:

The Impossible
ZDT
Django Unchained
Silver Linings Playbook
Brave

Don't really care if I ever see Lincoln. Looks so boring and I'm Lincolned out having just watched that National Geographic movie about his assassination.

Will probably also never watch:

Amour
Beasts of the Southern Wild
Les Misérables
Most of the Best Animated Feature category

Lincoln. I really have no interest. It seems pretty dull to me.

Of the Best Picture nominees I've seen:

Silver Linings Playbook
Beasts of the Southern Wild
Zero Dark Thirty
Django Unchained
Les Miserables

I do plan on seeing Amour, Argo, and Life of Pi.

Only one I didn't like of the nominated films was Beasts. Les Miserables is overrated and very flawed but I still "liked" it.

Of other nominated movies I will see Flight, even though I don't think it looks that good, as well as The Master.

I think you mean "2013 Oscar nominated movies", as it is the 2013 Oscars, but anyway..

Amour, A Royal Affair, No, War Witch, Searching for Sugar Man, How to Survive a Plague, The Gatekeepers, 5 Broken Cameras and The Invisible War are the movies that I never intend to watch.

All the movies were/are 2012 releases.

But the nominations were made in 2013.

It's the age-old search engine Oscar query.

Any of the shorts, documentaries (with the exception of Sugar Man), and most likely foreign films (Amour being the exception). Other than those, I'll eventually get to everything.

There are none I am against seeing. I am rather excited to see a few of the documentary and foreign-language contenders, No in particular.

I am not narrow-minded, so none.

Some people actually know what they like and don't waste their time with stuff that doesn't fit their criteria.

Yes, and it doesn't make them narrow-minded.

Yes, it does.

For some people, their time is valuable and thus it isn't worth it to waste said time watching movies they know they probably won't like.

Yes, okay, I get the point, but isn't it worth to give something a try and decide then? Because if something is so acclaimed, are you not even curious why it is so acclaimed?

When it comes to Lincoln for example, it's obvious why Hollywood nominated it/why it's acclaimed without ever needing to actually see it:

- Directed by a legend and probably the most famous filmmaker of our time who fought for years to get the film made
- Starring an actor who had won 2 Best Actor Oscars already
- Tells the story of a famous historical figure

Right and it feels like total Oscar bait and a biopic bore in advance. But it is totally not, it has crisp dialogue, doesn't deal with years of Lincoln's life and is as engaging as any thriller.

Lecter's never disliked a movie that he already thought he might dislike. If he had, he wouldn't be so narrowminded in his view here.

Doesn't compute. Why wouldn't my time be valuable, you know, especially since it's so short and all (beating you to the punch)

You spent half your night spewing misogynistic bile on Hollywood Elsewhere. Watching Lincoln would be a far more valuable use of time.

Which got a reaction, did it not? And if by "half the night" you mean about 10 minutes or less of actual writing time, sure. Is it somehow against the law to not like a specific actor and why does not liking one get one labeled as hating all of the same gender? I obviously like women (see avatar). Some of them are beautiful, smart, etc. but some are also not those things.

Maybe a few of the live-action short films, but other than those I'd be up for seeing any of the nominees.

I'm on Lecter's side. There are movies I will not actively pursue to watch, but if it happens that they are on TV and I have nothing else to do, I will watch them too.

The only movies I'm not watching (no matter if Oscar nomibated or not) are Almodovar ones since 2004, but that's another story.
