Oh, and I would not describe Chastain's Maya as "scared as shit." I even get the category--a strained way to recognize horror and suspense performances--but still.

So, I'm really pleased but not surprised to see The Perks of Being a Wallflower nominated for 4 awards. I am disappointed one of them isn't for Logan Lerman. Jesus Christ! He can't even get recognized for an MTV Movie Award? He is great in this film!

Otherwise a lot of awesome flicks nominated this year.

I'm just happy they pretty much shunned Twilight.

Yeah that really makes no sense at all. Should have been for Mama if anything.

True, but kind of shocking actually. Ever since 2008, the Twilight films have won Best Picture every single year.

I assume The Avengers or Silver Linings Playbook will take this.

Eh, I liked the film, but didn't find Lerman very impressive. He was outshined by Ezra Miller.

I want to want to care about these awards again for being an excellent measure of which films have had the biggest mark on pop culture that they were between the 90's and the mid 00's, but awarding twilight unironically 4 years in a row is a permanent stain on their credibility.

Since when does MacFarlane count as a shirtless performance?

Ted did not wear a shirt for most of the film. ;)

If Bane/Batman doesn't win Best Fight then there is no hope for the World.

Those fights were shit.

Skyfall deserves it more.

Post Re: MTV Movie Awards Nominations
Oh wow, these are airing on April 14th. That's earlier this year. Usually they're the beginning of summer.

I voted, and these are my picks:

Movie of the Year

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK

Best Female Performance

Jennifer Lawrence, SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK

Best Male Performance

Bradley Cooper, SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK

Breakthrough Performance

Ezra Miller, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER

Best Scared as Shit Performance

Jessica Chastain, ZERO DARK THIRTY (Even though the nomination makes no sense, her performance was still the best)

Best On-Screen Duo

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK

Best Shirtless Performance

Channing Tatum, MAGIC MIKE (He's not really my cup of tea, but he's the best of the noms.)

Best Fight

Daniel Craig vs. Ola Rapace, SKYFALL

Best Kiss

Emma Watson and Logan Lerman, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER

Best WTF Moment

Anna Camp - "Hack-Appella," PITCH PERFECT

Best Villain

Javier Bardem, SKYFALL

Best Musical Moment

Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER

So many good ones for "Musical Moment," but that Wallflower scene was one of my favorite movie scenes of the year.
