It's time to see rather or not Django's off the chain.

Zero Dark Thirty should get in here, considering The Hurt Locker did with just an actor nom. It's the actor/actress idea of best picture instead of the actual best ensembles, so I expect Argo to show up as well.

Plus, it has a diverse ensemble. Not A-list movie stars, but actors who have long pounded the pavement and earned respect. There is Kyle Chandler, for instance, who is a television veteran. Then there are Jason Clarke and Joel Edgerton, who can win the Australian vote. And so on and so forth.

On another note, I would love to see Keira Knightley pop up in Best Actress here.

I'm going with Argo, Lincoln, Les Mis, Silver Linings and Zero Dark Thirty in Ensemble.

Just remember, Inglourious Basterds WON back a few years back. Actors and actresses respect Tarantino.

As a heads up, Beasts of the Southern Wild was not eligible for this so Wallis missing out on Actress is not a snub.

Pretty standard stuff, but a few notes:
-Nothing for The Master other than Hoffman
-Nothing for Django Unchained either
-No ensemble nod for Zero Dark Thirty, which may mean it won't be quite as strong a contender as The Hurt Locker was
-Javier Bardem, again...first acting nod for a Bond movie?
-Ann Dowd really needed SAG to stay in the game, I think
-Nicole Kidman in The Paperboy, LOL, interesting choice

That is, in fact, pretty BAD for The Master.

Zero Dark Thirty is expected. I mean c'mon...I haven't read a SINGLE thing about any member of the cast except for Chastain.

Random Nicole Kidman nom.

Terrific for The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (and absolutely well-deserved!!).

I also firmly believe that Bardem is in now.

Big winners: Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook. The latter is still a Top 5 contender.

Also, I'm really glad Bradley Cooper isn't being ignored so far despite the competitiveness of his category, which I feared might happen.

Yes! Nicole Kidman is great in The Paperboy. Fantastic, unexpected nomination.

Maybe the membership didn't have enough time to see Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty? Or am I reaching?

Also, no Matthew McConaughey. Hrm. I still think he can pull off an Oscar nod.

I already said this yesterday but Jacki Weaver had a less challenging film that was also likely helped by a significant portion of the Australian and British contingents. Ann Dowd doesn't have this.

As always, I am fascinated by who they choose to recognize as part of each ensemble. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Hal Holbrook, for example, are nominated for Lincoln, but not Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Gloria Reuben, etc.

Honestly, I am shocked by Phoenix' omission. I am pretty sure his attitude played a large role in this outcome.

Still both are tiny tiny films. Then again, I don't predict Dowd to be nominated.

Interesting Les Misérables even scored a nomination for its stunt cast. A spot they easily could have just given to, say, The Avengers or The Hobbit or Safe House.

I certainly don't think it helped. SAG might just not have liked The Master much, though, considering Adams wasn't nominated either. And that should've been an easy nomination for her considering how blank Supporting Actress is and how well-liked she is.

I predict SAG's Actor roster (Cooper, Day-Lewis, Hawkes, Jackman, Washington) will line up with Oscar.

Django and ZDT did not get their screeners in before the deadline. Hence why they are missing.

The fact Cooper and Jackman will be in another category at the Globes is a blessing for Phoenix.
