This joke has become a joke.

If it were more of a serious affair, it could be a very interesting awards show every year. But you're right, Bradley, it's become a parody of itself now, it's too silly. I do think, though, that bad performances and bad movies should be highlighted in some way, if only in the hope that producers catch on to the idea that making crap won't go unnoticed.

They need to take aim at some more serious targets - - the list above is obvious - - the Razzies need to take the some shots at the big BO blockbusters (at least those deserving of it) - - it's not like the acting and production in them is unassailably perfect.

Yep, agreed. But they shouldn't take pot shots at the big box office blockbusters just for the sake of it. They should target just bad performances all across the board. For example, Killing Me Softly, I'd expect them to mention that if they want to be taken seriously, or The Hunger Games. I wouldn't want a Razzies that solely focuses on The Avengers' and The Dark Knight Rises' of the year. Then again, anything's better than the current Razzies.

How about just focusing on what is bad instead of stirring attention. If a blockbuster is bad, so be it and if it is a small movie, so be it as well.

Would you say the Razzies succeeded at that goal this year?

So...Killing Them Softly and The Hunger Games were both fairly acclaimed, and you think the Razzies would be taken more seriously if they nominated them for stuff? Okay.

I would take them more seriously, yes, because I found those movies to be bad.

The Razzies are ridiculous. It's a cool idea, but they always just go for the easy targets. I doubt they even watch these movies. Oogieloves? Really? It's a young kid's movie. Obviously it's not going to appeal to adults.

I actually have a varied taste in cinema. So if my taste is horrible, then you are declaring all films horrible. Please do name some of your favourite movies to prove your superiority over me...

I suspect this post will go unreplied.

I really do feel bad for it. I'm sure it does what it aims to do well. It's not like it's a movie for us.

No idea. Just passed me by, I guess. Hype and buzz doesn't phase me. I'm not the sort of person that goes out on the opening day and buys the new iPhone or iPad. I wait. Then I wait some more. Then years later, I may buy one.
