The Impossible will win Best Picture
No guts no glory! This looks to be riiiiight up the AMPAs alley, from a surefire barrage of over the top emotional manipulation scenes to pampered White American guilt. Plus the reviews have been excellent. The Impossible fits as a BP winner IMO

Re: The Impossible will win Best Picture
Judging by the reviews I have read, I am really not sure where your "White American guilt" comes from. It also didn't bring The Help BP last year, even if there was any of that in The Impossible.
The Impossible might win, but probably not for the reasons you have stated.

Re: The Impossible will win Best Picture
I meant it as "White Americans who are guilty", not "Americans who are guilty about being white"

I can't imagine this winning at all. Hereafter focuses on the tsunami, and the academy never give BP to movies that have a main selling point that's second-hand.

Hereafter does not focus on the tsunami.
