Re: Seth MacFarlane is hosting the Oscars A shock at first, but yeah, he's a pretty good choice. Hopefully he'll be given wiggle room to be edgy. And he's into Sinatra-type music, which should make for a good musical montage in the opening.

Plus, let's face it: MacFarlane just directed and headlined a HUGE, huge comedy hit, so he's hot.
