If there had been a required 10, they might have stuck Bridesmaids in there, if only to attract a broader audience on Feb. 26th, which was the point of The 10.

I still think My Week With Marilyn got a lot of actors and British support and wasn't that far off, but Dragon Tattoo is the obvious choice

If A Separation had been more widely seen, I believe it would have made it in there.

I wonder what the most random film an Academy member nominated for Best Picture was. I'm sure a lot of smaller, acclaimed titles--Pariah, for example, or Take Shelter--received a modest amount of votes, and I bet the better received action films (Captain America, Apes) did, too. But I wonder if there's just one person in the Academy who put down, say, Paranormal Activity 3 or The Three Musketeers or whatever.

Well Tarantino's Top 10/11/12 for the year is:

1. Midnight In Paris
2. Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes
3. Moneyball
4. The Skin I Live In
5. X-Men: First Class
6. Young Adult
7. Attack The Block
8. Red State
9. Warrior
10. The Artist / Our Idiot Brother (tie)
11. The Three Musketeers

He's an Academy member, right? If he sent these choices in his ballot than Apes was at one point his #1 movie (once MIP qualified), so I'm guessing that surprising choices do pop up a lot!
