YAY for Nick Nolte! :D Such a powerful performance in Warrior. Completely deserves recognition.

Otherwise: very boring and sad. Can't believe Fassbender and Mulligan were BOTH snubbed. I seriously hope at least the former can still get in at the Oscars.

The shafting of Oldman's highly praised minimalist turn as George Smiley in TTSS continues nearly unabated.

Can't believe Armie Hammer is in there.

Yesssssss Bridesmaids! AND MELISSA McCARTHY AGAIN. omg this needs to happen.

The Help is a serious threat to win the cast award. And I think Jessica Chastain is now definitely getting nominated.

The guy from A Better Life showing up here over Michael Fassbender is pretty curious.

Glaring omissions from the supporting categories: Albert Brooks and Shailene Woodley. Odd.

Outside Streep, no nominees from December films in sight.

Drive takes a hit here.

Ensemble is between The Artist and The Help.

Drive, sadly, was always going to nosedive the minute it had to appeal wide bodies of voters, not just groups of critics.

Corey Stoll, who played Hemingway in Midnight in Paris, was not among the actors nominated for the ensemble prize. Carla Bruni and Adrien Brody, however, were.

The actress who plays Clooney's younger daughter in The Descendants was also left out. As was the actor who played the stoner sidekick.

Dragon Tattoo is supposedly the only major contender to not send out screeners to SAG voters.

Ouch for Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close then.

Frankly, I am quite shocked by some of the nominees.

Bichir for A Better Life?! (though Sasha Stone predicted it!)

Drive has been shut out completely, same for Shame. The former is really a shocker considering how well-received Brooks' turn has been by the critics. Does this mean that Plummer is very likely to take this home now? When was the last time someone won an acting Oscar without a SAG nom? Right now, I can't see Branagh, Nolte, Hammer or Hill taking it...in fact I could see the latter three potentially missing an Oscar nom.

Albert Nobbs sreceived the push it needed, Close is back in the race.

And damn, looks like DiCaprio really will pull a Blanchett in Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

Also remember no film has won Best Picture at Oscar without being nominated for SAG since Braveheart, so the odd is against Hugo, War Horse, and Extremely Loud, even though the first two are never considered strong contenders for acting noms.

Hugo probably should have been nominated for Ensemble or Kingsley if it was going to win Best Picture at the Oscars.

Well, this once again boils it down to The Descendants and The Artist, right? I don't see any scenario in which Midnight in Paris or The Help win (let alone Bridesmaids)

Cromwell and Goodman being in The Artist will surely help it. Two veterans with a lot of industry friends/respect.
