I turned to E! for the Golden Globe nominations and they didn't cover that, so are we sure they'll have the Oscar nominations?

Anyway, I'm excited but nervous :P. Please let Michelle Williams get nominated! Image

There's probably going to be a live feed on Oscar's site like always... That's 12:30 for me if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, E! will definitely have them, they do every year.

I'm really hoping for some WTF nominations. This season has been incredibly boring.

They should announce the nominations from New York at a reasonable hour next year. 11:30. 8:30 is too early to care.

Somewhere in Best Original Screenplay! Never Let Me Go in Best Picture! :P

The one "could go either way" nomination I'm seriously hoping happens is Jacki Weaver in Best Supporting Actress. She's so deserving.

The Academy likes Mike Leigh, so I won't be shocked if Another Year gets more love than we are expecting.

The Town could also very well end up with zero nominations.

Post subject:  Re: OSCAH NOMINATIONS fiesta and countdown thread

The Town'll get five nominations, IMO.

Another Year is definitely a top contender in Best Original Screenplay. As you said, they love Leigh, and they tend to treat the screenplay categories as the "Let's honor the 'quirky,' smaller fare" category.

I'm just not sure at the expense of which film (since the contenders are the heavies: The Kids Are All Right, Inception, The King's Speech, Black Swan and The Fighter). The Fighter?

I am excited, like every year!

I hope to see you all on here during the announcement. I'm going to make sure I am up and watch the nominations announcement stream on the Oscar site, and I would love to have a group of people here to chat with about them!

Peace,

Wooohoooo! Actually nominations are much more exciting for me than the actual awards... It helps there isn't a bloated show with pathetic hosts.

For some reason I thought this was scheduled for 6.30 EST and I've been waiting these past 10 minutes for the feed to go live. LOL. I guess a little under 2 more hours to go!
