Cool to see a nod for Phillip Morris! Didn't think it'd be recognized anywhere. These add NOTHING to the state of the race, though as Another Year, The King's Speech, Toy Story 3, Blue Valentine and Winter's Bone were not eligible anyway. Inception will win Original and TSN Adapted. |

Wow, that PHILLIP MORRIS nod is definitely surprising. A nice one. ![]() |

I could see either Black Swan or The Fighter wins original screenplay; TSN is locked for adapted though. Inside Job appears to be a stronger contender than Waiting for Superman in the doc category. |

Please Give's good, but I wish Somewhere or Greenberg had been nominated for Original Screenplay here. |

Do you see The Fighter/Black Swan ahead of Inception in the Screenplay category or was your statement about the films that could upset Inception? |

It would be so bogus if Black Swan won a screenwriting award. Very cool film, but c'mon. |

BTW, it is sad that Four Lions didn't get a screenplay nod. One of the best screenplays of the year, dammit. |

Oh, I just saw it was not eligible either. |

Inception is the frontrunner in the category, but I'm not yet convinced the film is in that strong a position. |

Sad thing is that even if Inception wins WGA it does not tell us how strong it is for the Oscar because The King's Speech was not eligible. If it does, however, lose here, I see no way for it to win at the Oscars. |

It just ain't that good and at least it would make for an interesting category to watch considering you can pick like most of the winners in the big categories right now. |

I'm a tiny bit surprised The Kids Are All Right didn't win. Of course, none of this matters in terms of the Oscars. Sorkin has been a done deal for months, and The King's Speech obviously wasn't eligible here. |

Probably because the writers aren't guild members. |
