On IMDB it shows Carlos is a TV mini-series... WTF?

In my country when national broadcast network has a stake in filming a movie they usually film extra and later put those movies as two or three part mini series.

Duga mračna noć (Long Dark Night) was first released as a 210 minute movie, but a year later 13 episodes each around 50 minutes in length aired.
