 Re: Satellite nominations
OCD alert! I hate how certian categories have seven, eight, nine, ten nominations, but others have less. These bitches need to standarize. Eight cinematography nominations, but only five for costume design? Just strange. I presume they didn't see True Grit in time. The nominations are fine--lots of WTF? inclusions, but a few cool ones, too. I'm glad they loved Animal Kingdom and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World so much. Although it's strange Edgar Wright wasn't one of the ten nominated directors--Scott Pilgrim is such a Director's Director type of film. Wright's visual eye and love of pop culture is more the star than Cera. It's bizarre Pierce Brosnan is the sole acting nomination for The Ghost Writer. He's fine in it, gets the job done, etc., but to remember him and not Olivia Williams strikes me as...just wrong. They sure loved Unstoppable... No love for Greenberg, Hereafter, Let Me In, or, sigh, Never Let Me Go. The Carell/Dinner for Schmucks nomination is fun. I hope he and/or Russell Brand (Get Him to the Greek) score Globe nods. The Comedy Actory category is very open and wild this year. This is the first time I've seen The Tempest's name in awhile. I almost forgot it was coming out.
