He's been nominated 3 times, though he should have been nominated more than that, since 1994. He's arguably one of the best 3/5 actors working. I don't remember the last film he did where he wasn't phenomenal. It has to happen eventually... right? |

He's playing J. Edgar Hoover, the never proven to be a homosexual/crossdresser pioneer of the FBI, and it's directed by Clint Eastwood, so with Leo's acclaimed body of work up until that point, that looks like a really good bet to win him an Oscar should the movie be of the necessary quality. If Eastwood is indeed focusing on the controversial, but never confirmed, aspects of Hoover's private life, that's the kind of thing that the academy will eat up. |

Family, career, friends, and fun. The kind of stuff that is a lot more satisfying to me than spending the majority of my free time watching movies and posting on messageboards. I have very little time for it, but that doesn't mean I won't pop in now and then, it just means I won't be around on any kind of regular basis. No time to really get involved in anything like boxoffice or Oscars or going to the movies regularly and discussing my opinions about what I watched. |
