Will the upcoming guilds really be any indication?
I was thinking about it and the situation right now is still a toss-up between The Social Network and The King's Speech. Many keep saying that the upcoming guilds/awards well tell us more. But will they really?
Fincher will win DGA. I don't think anyone doubts that. Will that show us that The Social Network is gaining strength? Not really. TSN will win WGA, everyone knows that and The King's Speech is not even eligible. So that changes nothing.
The King's Speech will win BAFTA. Also something everyone has been expecting all the way.
As for the techs...I don't think we'll see The King's Speech performing strongly anywhere other than CDG and maybe ADG. The Social Network will probably get ACE and might have a shot at ASC. Nothing surprising here either.
The only thing that might be telling is SAG Ensemble. But even then, only if The King's Speech wins (that'd make it the clear favorite).
If The Fighter wins...well, it won't change much.
If The Social Network wins SAG, it'll be good, but I suppose those who believe in The King's Speech's strength will still believe in it due to the PGA and the nominations tally.
In other words, unless TKS is winning SAG, I don't see anything along the way, from now on, giving us a more clear picture of the race.

TSN is a lock no matter what. I don't see that ever changing.

The King's Speech is the frontrunner now, dude. Keep up.

But as I said, whatever the frontrunner is...will the guilds change anything unless TKS wins SAG Ensemble?

IMO winning SAG ensemble will pretty much make The King's Speech a lock for BP. Few predicted it would factor in that race at all (people were thinking The Fighter first, then TSN), so winning it will be huge.

SAG is the important indicator. Flip a coin.
