Well for now I'd say it has the best shot amongst the currently declared animated movies to win the award. Though time will tell if it really sucks or not

I think Rapunzel/Dragon/Megamind will win it. Hoodwinked 2 and Alpha and Omega also join the also-rans. Or we have Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli/some random other 2D animated film from another country winning. I'm pretty sure the Academy aren't going to have a sequel win especially if another movie is just as good and I think as good as TS3 will be, animation has risen in standard so that the Academy will be inclined to award something else if they are as good. Unless they snub Up this year. |

Up losing wouldn't really be a snub. It's still the frontrunner to win BA this year, but it's far weaker than Ratatouille and Wall-E were. |

I wonder if Disney will ever pull Pixar from the Animated slot. Probably when they stand a realistic shot at winning Best Picture. |

I certainly don't see why anyone thinks it's a good idea. Michael Moore proved it doesn't help at all. And he had huuuuuge hype that year, probably as big if not bigger than most of Pixar's best. And it would only mean not winning one certain Oscar in that case. It's more likely that if Pixar has a BP film, Academy will snub it in BA and just give it BP instead. |

It didn't have a shot at winning, but most people thought that pulling out from Documentary was the way to get the film a nom at BP. It didn't work. And they only lost Best Documentary Award as a result... I thnik pulling out from anything is moronic and doesn't have much effect on anything. Will Avatar's shot at winning BP be bigger if Cameron removed himself from BD race? If Academy is really keen on splitting (as most people think it will happen) it would make the choice much easier, but who knows how Academy will vote???? Maybe they want to give Avatar BD and THL BP??? |

Look at awardsdaily on web.archive.org. It didn't have a shot. Never appeared anywhere. Nobody gave a shit about the film after the election. |
