A good list. Wish to see Up here, but not sure which one to bump. Look like the two sound categories will be a mixture of these six films. Inglourious Basterds could pop up in one of them but unlikely. Star Trek and District 9 are getting very good guilds support and are in position for a bunch of technical noms. |

Up not being in here is surprising for sure. I think so Avatar will win here but Up is getting Best Score awards everywhere and these are specially for sound which are at the same level though not the same award. Terrible for UP which could mean that Academy people might re-think giving Best Score to UP. Anyways the line-up id good and deserving specially interesting that Hurt Locker is matching Avatar in some Technical categories as well as all the non Technical awards. Really big competition between the two ![]() |

Looking back in 2007 Ratatouille didn't get a nom and it showed in both Oscar Sound categories. In 2004 The Incredibles didn't get a nom and it went on to [u]win[/] Best Sound Editing and with a nomination in Best Sound Mixing. In 2003 Finding Nemo didn't get a nod here, but showed up in Best Sound Editing. In 2001 Monsters In. didn't get a nod and showed up in Best Sound Editing. In fact only Lion King and Wall-E showed up in Cinema Audio Society awards. The Lion King got no Oscar Sound noms, and Wall-E got both, but that was a given. Toons aren't well liked here it seems and I wouldn't worry about Up not being among the nominees. |

The question is...if Up gets in which will be snubbed? I think (and hope) Transformers 2. |
