Which Fox Searchlight Film will get a BP nomination?

Post subject:  Which Fox Searchlight Film will get a BP nomination?
Do you think Fox Searchlight will manage to get a BP nomination this year? Its "contenders" are:

(500) Days of Summer
Amelia
Crazy Heart
Fantastic Mr. Fox

Or will Fox focus all its efforts only on Avatar and get the Fox Searchlight staff to focus accordingly?

Well, Amelia is out. There's a better chance for The Hangover or even I Love You, Man to get nominated than that.


Crazy Heart would have a chance if handled properly but the expansion is too slow. It won't make it.


(500) Days of Summer has passionate support but that ain't gonna cut it. The problem is: I don't see a BP nominee with only ONE extra nom (Screenplay)


The Fantastic Mr. Fox is the one with the best shot at the moment as it is a shoe-in for a Best Animated nom and has a strong case going for it to be nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay. But I still don't see it happening at the moment.

Please, please, please, please let (500) DAYS OF SUMMER get a Best Picture nomination! It seemed pretty certain at one point, but not anymore. Though of these it has the best chance.

I would say Avatar is a lock considering the 10 nominations (It is already considered as on of the 10 best of the decade so a nomination is sure).

But I really really really hope that (500) Days of Summer makes it in the list. It is a great movie and very well made film. Nine has now opened up a slot of the previous 10 BP nominations. I think so (500) DOS should make it in.

So, Oscar nominations are Tuesday right?

After losing Best Picture (Musical or Comedy) at the Globes SUMMER probably won't get nominated for Best Picture. I'm still holding out hope though and want it to happen more than anything.
