Post subject:  Avatar's Oscar Prediction

This is my first topic here so please be kind and participate and send as many suggestions to make this more interesting. I think so since AVATAR has made some real numbers and would be slowing just a tiny little bit since the holidays are over it is time to talk about the awards.

82nd Oscars:
Nominations to be announced Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at 5:30 a.m. PST.
Oscars Night will be on March 7, 2010, 5:00 a.m. PT/8:00 a.m. ET

Rules : http://www.oscars.org/awards/academyawa ... index.html

Choose whether it will get nominated or not from the below list of Award Categories. I will make a tabular note out of it. The winner will be decided on the % or correct answers so don't pick on every nomination and say YES. Weigh it properly before giving YES or NO.

Here is the list of awards that it can be qualified. Put a YES or NO beside the category

ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE (Stephen Lang)
ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE (Zoe Saldana)
ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE (Sigourney Weaver)

I would agree with all that, except for art direction, which has a pretty good change of getting a nomination. Avatar is a 100% designed world with massive amounts of nature, animals, and technology that were created specifically for the film. The sheer amount of design work could give it a nomination.

Maybe best song as well, as the song nominations are never that good anyway.

Have you just came from the past using Time-Travel or something? Or maybe you haven't yet seen the movie.

In any case I think so the highest grossing movie of 2009 and one of the best of the decade will have some nominations for sure. And technical aspect is the strongest for this movie so I guess they are kinda locked already
