Can Meryl Streep get an Oscar Nom for Julie & Julia? Or then just the Golden Globe win, I guess. Because this movie really was just OK and it got good critical reviews, but she carried the movie? Probably a Golden Globe nomination (and loss to Marion Cotillard), but that'd be the extent in my opinion. |

She is a lock for a nom. And we probably could merge this into Best Actress discussion and have the discussion there considering there aren't many other contenders yet, but I'll leave the thread as it is. |

She rode effusive praise & big box office numbers from Devil Wears Prada into a nomination. She's praised here, but not to the same extent. The box office isn't going to be as big, and the campaign will only be for her (as opposed to her + Emily Blunt + screenplay, i.e. the movie has less pedigree). Not seeing a lock here this early, especially if it's a strong year. |

If Emily Blunt could be on Devil Wears Prada Oscar ads, I'm sure there will be no problem putting "FYC - Best Actress - Amy Adams" or "Best Supporting Actor - Stanley Tucci" on Julie & Julia's. |

Definitely nominated, and deserving, and possibly a win coming up, call me nuts but I can see it happening, she's due. |

She'll be nominated for sure, and while I doubt she'll win, it's possible. I just watched the movie and she's deserving, as usual. |
