Cold Mountain is much more mainstream than Closer, and it's thought to be Miramax's main oscar card last year. People were sure about it because Miramax and the cast, not necessarily because of its quality. Closer also has a great cast, but the difference is the advance buzz is more about its quality. I like the comparison to The Hours. This looks like another critics darling that will do decent in box office. |

I'll ignore Daniel and Benny who seemed to think every movie released tihs year was a lock ![]() Not bad. Fahrenheit 9/11 ended up not being elligible so that cant really count as wrong. Javier Bardem probably should have been nominated. The people calling The Passion and Kill Bill locks for all kinds of categories, well..what can you expect from them ![]() So Javier and Meryl Streep stand out as the only major lock-called people who didn't get nominated, and I'm sure both were at least close. And i can take pride in knowing that every one of my locks made it. YAY Laura Linney. |

Dkmuto wrote: Nice interpretation of that, Impact. Yeah, I fail to see how that was "getting mad" as much as arguing a point that he agreed with... Erm. |
