Post Possible Notables For This Year's Best Picture Nominees
I have some time off from having time off and there's nothing I'd rather talk about more than this 10 BP nonsense :D

There stands a good chance that we'll see

First BP nominee to be directed by an African American (Precious)
First BP nominees about the War on Terror (Green Zone, The Hurt Locker)
First BP nominee from Pixar/CGI (Up)
First BP nominee in 3D (Avatar)
First BP nominee in the form of documentary (untitled Michael Moore film, or a random awesome documentary)

Like Coppola and The Godfather/The Conversation/The Godfather II/Apocalypse Now, Scorsese can score back to back to back to back BP nominations. Unlike Coppola, Scorsese can also score back to back to back to back BD nominations. Note: William Wyler is still an Oscar god with his sexy 12 noms/3 wins.

First time multiple women in a single year could have BP nominees (The Hurt Locker, Bright Star, Amelia,). For that matter, we could see multiple female BD nominees.

James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow could become the first divorced couple to have films competing in the BP race. Awkwarddd.

I'm sure there are more that I'm missing. I guess having 10 BP nominees could open the floodgates in terms of AMPAS trivia/historical benchmarks.

Had the Academy had any sense and actually nominated the two best films from 2004, this would have already happened: Kill Bill and Before Sunset :P
