Well, the title is self-explanatory. Since 1927 over 400 movies have been nominated for the Best Picture award. Some of them deservingly so, some of them not. Some of them deservingly won, som of them undeservingly lost. What I am asking you is, what are your favorite Best Picture nominees? That includes those movies that won Best Picture as well as those that didn't. My list goes like this: 1. L.A. Confidential 2. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 3. The Pianist 4. The Sixth Sense 5. The Green Mile 6. Star Wars: A New Hope 7. Gladiator 8. Forrest Gump 9. Platoon 10. American Beauty Note: I have to re-watch Schindler's List What are your picks? ![]() |

Wouldn't it closer to 2005 - 1927 = 78 years * 5 = 390 nominations - not taking into account the number of early nominations. And truthfully, TO ME, I don't care about the only the ones that were nominated - there were plenty of movies that should have been nominated so Oscar has made lots of mistakes. Except for the LAST 2 YEARS WHERE OSCAR GOT EVERYTHING RIGHT - HE HE. |

If I had to give you an answer right away I would say yes, but I am sure if I sat down and thought about it, I could come up with a list that I felt were worse. |
