Eastwood and Freeman are as Good as Gold!
These two veterans have been in 2 movies together, and each has won Best Picture , as well as winning Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, and gotten Eastwood a Best Acting nomination in each of them. It makes one wonder if somewhere in the next decade, they'll go for the holy trinity. \:D/

Next decade as in 2010? Clint's getting old, I don't think he'll live forever. Then again, his mother is still alive.
Maybe Freeman will be casted in Flags of our Fathers. I haven't read the book so I don't know if there are any black people in it.

I can't believe that old bird is still kicking, even going out to parties at her age. Eastwood doesn't sound like he plans on retiring anytime soon, as he referred to himself as still a kid and told the financial people not to forget about the older filmmakers. If his mother's genetics are on his side, he won't be dying anytime soon either, and he has always kept himself in good shape.
I don't think Freeman willl be in Flags of our Fathers. Not in a big enough role to waste his talents on, anyway. He said that he doesn't want to cast anybody older than 26, but I'd like to see Tobey MaGuire get one of the lead roles. I really don't see him winning another Oscar, but I could see him getting another Oscar for an actor or two.

Has Clint made any mention of other projects beyond Flags of our Fathers? I would like to see another western but that's probably just me.

I'd like to see another Western too, with him directing others in it. He wants to stay behind the scenes and direct. He only did M$B because he thought he was right for the part. He hasn't mentioned anything yet beyond FOOF (that will be a fun one to use) , but he has mentioned that this is more epic than his last 2 films, and that it goes back and forth between 1945 and 1996. I'm guessing that he will be assured of work for awhile after the critical and financial successes of Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby, and prospects are good for Flags of Our fathers being more of the same.

Yeh, those two are solid. Not only together, but single too.....Morgan Freeman is classic in everything he is in and Clint turns just about everything he helps toward, to gold. They are just likeable people that ARE good at what they do.
Flasg of our Fathers looks brilliant, i cannot wait for it, it wont win Best Picture, purely because he won this year and he cant win all the time, but it'll be an excellent film, im sure, as long Clint directs.

Odds are Clint will be dead before Marty. He's doing that Internal Affairs remake.

He met with Singh before he won so I would expect this to move forward fairly soon.

They'll both also have WWII films out next year (Freeman's is about the 761st Tank Battalion).

Both of these posts had me laughing out loud
The Departed will be sweepy at the Oscars 2007. Expect nomination #13 (I think) for Nicholson and yet another nom for DiCaprio.

I half expected Clint to die during the show and for the Oscars to show footage of him from the show during the "In Memory Of" segment.
I had similar thoughts about Gloria Stewart when she was nominated for Titanic.

I am quite pleased that Morgan Freeman has finally gotten his Oscar. He should have had one before sunday anyway.

So am I.
I am so happy that Clint Eastwood got it. He has quickly became one of my favorite and most looked for figures in Hollywood and the movies. I think he still has another good decade of film-making! At least 5 more pictures.
