Officially Rotten on RT. 59%. (52% Top Critics) I thought Chocolat was rotten as well, but appently it had a 62. so what's the last BP nominee to earn this prestigious honor? |

Chocolat was at 59-60% for a long time, though. Maybe in 2-3 years, The Reader is back to fresh again. |

I'd assume its reputation was much more ambivalent when it came out for obvious reasons. Think The Notebook, except it making quadruple what it did. |

RT doesn't matter before 1990. The way that reviews were done before it really got it's groove on is different from the way it comes together now. |

I would guess that a number of films from the sixties (Dr. Doolittle, The Alamo, Cleopatra) that almost literally bought the nomination had worse critical consensuses. *Insert "Weinsteins bought this nomination too!" comment below* |
