I can't wait for the Independent Spirit Awards! Those are so fun.

I think the only guild I am kinda interested in is Cinematographers. I hope TDK can win there, paving its way towards an Oscar win...

I hope ACE and ASC go off the beaten path a bit. That would be exciting.

It appears that ASC won't venture too far off the beaten path. Bad news for Wally Pfister

Doesn't look that bad, but it probably is Mantle's to lose.

Plus, Slumdog is brilliantly shot at least.

I'm not even sure I would put it in my top 5 for the year.

TDK, Revo Road, Let The Right One In, Benjamin Button, Milk, Man on Wire.

Out the 5 nominees, it's probably #3 behind TDK and BB. Changeling was a nonevent (strange nom) and The Reader looked like something someone shot on holiday.

The Reader isn't nominated for Cinematography at the Oscars

If only that was true.

Metaphorically maybe.

Oh

I was convinced Deakins got the nom for RR (which he would have deserved).

Such a shame. It's kinda sad, though, that people are forgetting about The Reader's noms even before the ceremony already.

That's telling about the race in general, not just The Reader.

I remember when Chris Rock hosted and did a man on the street segment at a movie theatre to ask people about the nominated films. I think it would go over even worse this year.
