Like, in your opinion.

Most indefensible robbery: Sally Hawkins - Happy-Go-Lucky
Best lil surprise!: O...Saya for best song.

Worst robbery: Neither blockbusters for Picture or Director
Best surprise: Frozen River shows up in two categories

Yeah, that's pretty imbalanced.

Technicality, lack of common sense or some silly rule against it, The Wrestler should have received a nod for Best Song.

My surprise today was Amy Adams. I was thinking she was a longshot. I wonder if she took Winslet's spot.

:( No Leonardo DiCaprio nomination.
:) Defiance nominated for Best Original Score. Seriously, love the movie, hate the movie, indifferent to the movie, the score is STUNNING. The violin solos by Joshua Bell are moving.

Oh please, if one word qualifies the music of TDK is certainly not memorable. TDK has one (or two) themes that are recognizable, but the rest is filler material. Both Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard have by far done better work elsewhere, especially Howard when he collaborates with Shyamalan.
Still, the Academy will probaly give the Oscar to Rahman, continuing with the tradition of the flavor of the moment/exotic touch being awarded (yes, I'm referring to the Dudleys, Santaolallas, Kaczmarecs, Coriglianos), while great composers like Bruce Broughton, John Debney or Basil Poledouris have never won one, and in the case of Poledouris, sadly never will now.
