Post Bolt over Waltz?
This seems to have been lost amidst the cloud Bat shit in the atmosphere today, but umm....wtf?

This is also an insult to WALL-E. The AMPAS clearly have zero respect for the category they've forced it into.

And poor "Waltz" is going to return to Tel Aviv empty-handed when The Class wins Best Foreign Language Film.

I don't think that the photochop-style painting of a live action film, as in Waltz With Bashir, really stands in the same league as a WALL-E, or yes, even a Bolt.

Clearly Waltz With Bashir is an infinitely better film than Bolt, but animation-wise, as beautiful as it is, it's still a bit of a cheat...

Bolt was actually pretty good. Best Disney film since Lilo & Stitch. Chris Sanders is the last guy in America working well in the industry outside Pixar.

I'm interested to hear other people's opinions of how the cgi overpainting of convential cinematography (as in Waltz With Bashir, Waking Life, A scanner Darkly) fits into the definition of animation...
