With all of the discussion about the Oscars, this is tonight. Also is there any connection on the way that the DGA goes and how it relates to the Oscars. ( For example, I think that Scorcese has never won an DGA or an Oscar for Directing. While Eastwood has won both before with Unforgiven.) Also are the voters for the DGA, the same ones who vote for the Oscars? Sorry, I didn't know that there wasn't a ceremony. Anyway, I thought this deserved a fresh post for the awards - no one was talking about this until I posted it. Looking at some of the comments, I am glad I posted it as for me at least, the answers are pretty interesting. Plus the director has been a hot topic in the Oscar thread. To me after the Oscars, this, the DGA, or maybe the SAG awards might be the most interesting winners. But I don't know alot of the others.

wow. SO glad and happy for him. My pick of the year (of those nominated!) but what the hell does this say about Oscar? Still positive Scorsese will win Director and still predicting Aviator for Picture but it's as if they're throwing these surprises on purpose to throw us off! IT would be a delight to see Baby win!

Wow, oscar race just keeps getting more exciting. Marty still has the oscar BD in the bag, but the BP is a dead heat. All eyes on SAG now. On a separate note, I don't know what the deal is between DGA and Scorsese. 6 times now and no win. Incredible.
