When did that happen the last time?!
Michael Clayton is the only film this year with multiple acting nominations. Can't recall this happening in a long long time.

Master and Commander, ROTK, and Seabiscuit has no acting noms at all, and LiT had 1. Nono, I don't mean BO nominees. In 2003 there were many other films with more than one nom. If I recall correctly, this year, MC is the only one overall.

Re: When did that happen the last time?!
You have to go back to 1935 (or the 1936 ceremony) - the last year when they didn't have Supporting performance awards. Only Mutiny on the Bounty received multiple acting nominations - all three in Best Actor (none won).
1936 on, there are at least 2 movies with multiple acting nominations.

Re: When did that happen the last time?!
This year is just bizarre...I mean, seriously, there were several films with good cast ensembles that got only one nom. Like Into the Wild, Atonement, American Gangster or Juno. In a normal year, at least one of them would have gotten another nom.

Another thing I found out is that you have to go back all the way to Three Men and a Baby to fiund a #1 of the year box-office-wise that was not nominated for a single Oscar!

My first thought was, what about Home Alone? Who knew it was nominated for Two Oscars, two more than Zodiac. Heh, I checked that before too.

Re: When did that happen the last time?!
And you know what? Despite getting many many major noms, I think Michael Clayton will probably be the only BP nominee tis year to go home empty-handed.
