I think it's very impressive that 4 of the 10 screenplay nominees had a female screenwriter:

Sarah Polley - Away From Her
Diablo Cody - Juno
Nancy Oliver - Lars and the Real Girl
Tamara Jenkins - The Savages

Too bad they're such bitches to females for director. Tamara Jenkins and Sarah Polley would've been much better noms than Reitman.

Also, had Adrienne Shelley been nominated (maybe instead of Tony Gilroy), it would have been 5 of 10.

YES!! It's unfortunate the nominations for Tamara Jenkins and Sarah Polley are more than likely consolation prizes for outstanding directorial achievements more than anything else.
