Seriously. http://criticstop10.com/ #3 of the year USC scripter nom, WGA nom...it does have some support. With a later release date and thus more awards buzz, I'm sure it'd have made $45+ million at the box-office and would have gotten more exposure. I'm sure it'd be up there and fighting at least for a Best Director nom now... |

I'd rather it had stayed in last year, when the crop was weaker and it probably could have gotten a BP nomination. This year is unbelievably stacked. |

No Country, Blood, Diving Bell, Into the Wild, Zodiac Coens, PTA, Schnabel, Penn, Fincher The Oscars would suddenly become a film nerd SHRINE. That's an insane lineup, just insane. |

if it came out in the last couple of months, I'm pretty sure it would replace Into the Wild [or maybe Atonement] for that final slot. So yeah, it probably should've. But I doubt they knew that would happen, as Fincher's never been nominated before. |

Its completely deserving of a Best Pic nod and i really wish it could get one even though thats not going to happen. IMO its one of the best of the year and its a shame to see it not getting much attention. |
