Seriously.

#3 of the year

USC scripter nom, WGA nom...it does have some support.

With a later release date and thus more awards buzz, I'm sure it'd have made $45+ million at the box-office and would have gotten more exposure. I'm sure it'd be up there and fighting at least for a Best Director nom now...

I'd rather it had stayed in last year, when the crop was weaker and it probably could have gotten a BP nomination. This year is unbelievably stacked.

Yeah or that. What I meant was that it really should have had some year-end release.

No Country, Blood, Diving Bell, Into the Wild, Zodiac

Coens, PTA, Schnabel, Penn, Fincher

The Oscars would suddenly become a film nerd SHRINE. That's an insane lineup, just insane.

If only it were something like...

No Country
Blood
Zodiac
Eastern Promises
Sweeney Todd

Coens
PTA
Fincher
Cronenberg
Burton

That would be a fuckin' LINEUP.

if it came out in the last couple of months, I'm pretty sure it would replace Into the Wild [or maybe Atonement] for that final slot. So yeah, it probably should've. But I doubt they knew that would happen, as Fincher's never been nominated before.

Its completely deserving of a Best Pic nod and i really wish it could get one even though thats not going to happen. IMO its one of the best of the year and its a shame to see it not getting much attention.
