What exactly is the BFCA, and why does it matter?

I'm trying to decide if this is important enough to miss the BCS Championship Game for.

We are so lame.
But we can recognize it.
That's what separates us from the dungeons & dragons freaks.

I'm more of an online tv robber when it comes to sports... I don't think any nerds out there are broadcasting vh1, unfortunately. I will keep looking!

BFCA consists mostly of quotewhores, which makes them a pretty sizable joke. They're currently in the process of attempting to turn their awards into something important and influential. You can be the judge of whether or not they've succeeded.

I just tried to watch about 30 seconds of the pre-show.

I had two choices... throw my remote through my television, or change the channel.

I really hope Ellen Page doesn't pick up lots of wins. It's not her that I can't stand, but the people supporting her are starting to really piss me off. That, plus the fact that Christie and Cotillard were infinitely better.

It's a who's who of who's not.

Do they really think that constantly talking about celebrities makes us think they're there?

Bleh, I need sleep (2:10 am here and when you're not living by your own anymore, schedules are getting tighter).

I'm actually mildly excited.

I'm hoping for some sort of interesting win here tonight. Like, say, Ellen Page winning. I still haven't seen Away from Her and La Vie en Rose (I really need to get on that), but I feel like Page winning would certainly add an interesting dimension to the Best Actress race.

I'd like it, too. Problem is, as Shack showed above by posting the previous winners, they always go with the early frontrunners and aren't affected by later buzz. Madsen, Church, Scorsese for Aviator and so on and so forth.

So Christie, No Country, Coens, Day-Lewis, Ryan, and Bardem are smelling fresh at the moment.

Goddamnit, most of these voters are not film critics. Stop calling them that. They're talking heads and retards all.

Aw. She was so good in Bridge to Terabithia. I don't think we should knock her. Plus, she's like...14 years old.
