Okay, so what's your Best Picture line-up?
There are several possible Best Picture-nominees line-up's going around, but their number is fairly limited, so I thought I could start a poll to see what opinion prevails at the moment. In the poll you can see several possible line-up's for Best Picture. Which one do you see happening?
Obviously, there are other possible predictions to be made, but I think the poll encompasses most of the possibilities.

While I'd like to see the Diving Bell in there, I went for number one. Also, I wouldn't completely rule out Zodiac like you did.

Heh good thread
I also voted for the top option. I thought for a while Atonement would get snubbed, but it's doing surprisingly well on the critics list and it's hard to take out the Globe nomination leader. As much as the Globes have sucked lately, that's when we knew Babel was getting in last year.

Re: Okay, so what's your Best Picture line-up?
Presently: Atonement, Into the Wild, Michael Clayton, No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood; but that could easily change in the next few weeks.

Re: Okay, so what's your Best Picture line-up?
the one at the top. Michael Clayton or maybe Atonement could be swapped for Sweeney Todd or maybe Into the Wild, but that top one is shaping up pretty nicely at the moment.
1. No Country for Old Men 2. There Will Be Blood 3. Juno 4. Atonement 5. Michael Clayton
6. Sweeney Todd 7. Into the Wild 8. American Gangster
I don't think anything else could get in at this point.

Re: Okay, so what's your Best Picture line-up?
Ideally: No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, Atonement, Juno, Into the Wild
That'd be brilliant. I can't bring myself to believe/predict an American Gangster/Michael Clayton/Great Debators nomination, and I'm pretty uneasy about Sweeny, so that's probably the best bet for my "predicted" 5, too.

Re: Okay, so what's your Best Picture line-up?
My only hope is that Hairspray gets the nod for a Best Pic nom - - I know the fact that it was actually the best movie of 2007 has nothing to do with this topic - - but still, I can dream...

Re: Okay, so what's your Best Picture line-up?
Atonement Into the Wild Juno Michael Clayton No Country for Old Men
Although I'm not *that* confident in predicting Into the Wild. I may change to There Will Be Blood in place of that sometime before nominations, depending on how things go.

Re: Okay, so what's your Best Picture line-up?
Right now in terms of nomination likelihood I'm thinking
Tier 1: No Country for Old Men
Tier 2: There Will Be Blood Michael Clayton Juno
Tier 3 Atonement Into the Wild
Tier 4 Sweeney Todd The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Dkmuto wrote: Atonement Into the Wild Juno No Country for Old Men There Will Be Blood Once again, we see eye to eye. This has been my predicted 5 for almost a week now. For some reason, I have a lot of doubts but I'm sticking to it. It's also definitely my favorite of all the line ups. I think Into the Wild is the shakiest and Michael Clayton is posing a major threat. I'm really doubting Sweeney being a major player but it would still be 7th on my list.

Cool, my option is up there and someone else voted for it too. I voted:
No Country for Old Men There Will Be Blood Atonement Sweeney Todd Into the Wild

Re: Okay, so what's your Best Picture line-up?
I believe that at least two nominees for the SAG Ensemble award have to be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar. I see those two being No Country for Old Men and Into the Wild. I've looked at the entire history of the SAG Ensemble award, and a 2/5 match up is the smallest that has occurred.
Peace, Mike

The first option. There Will Be Blood will win it.

Peace, Mike A 4/5 including both Hairspray/American Gangster is even more likelier than either a 2/5 or 1/5 match-up, imo. I don't get why people refuse to believe that at least one of Hairspray/American Gangster will get in and put at least one of them as at the very minimum an alternate for #6 or #7.

American Gangster could get in, although unless the DGA insists, you won't find me predicting it.
Hairspray? No.

Hairspray? No. I'm pretty sure Hairspray has a better chance than American Gangster does.

Re: Okay, so what's your Best Picture line-up?
I really think Atonement, Sweeney Todd, and Into the Wild are in a tight three-way race for that last slot. I think Atonement will get in, but it could go to any of them. The other four seem like very likely bets for a nomination at this point.

Looks like only one person in the poll was right, hehe.
