Broadcast Film Critics Association just announced their film of the month for December, and guess what film it is. Maybe an indication on which film will win their award? December - Hotel Rwanda Nov - Finding Neverland Oct - Sideways Sep - Motorcycle Diaries, The Aug - Hero Jul - Maria Full of Grace Jun - Spider-Man 2 May - Shrek 2 Apr - Kill Bill: Volume 2 Mar - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Feb - Good Bye, Lenin! Jan - Osama http://www.bfca.org/movieDirectory/movi ... emonth.asp Pay attention to December Film of the Month for the last three years. Notice anything? They all went on to win BFCA and Oscar best picture. ![]() IMO, Hotel Rwanda is firmly on the No. 4 spot now for the best picture race. |

That's pretty low for Phantom (compared to the others). |

That's awesome for Hotel Rwanda. It's nice to see some mix ups for once. They didn't pick the typical choice, like The Aviator or Million Dollar Baby. I agree that Hotel Rwanda has a good chance. I'll only be fully convinced if I see Hotel Rwanda nominated at the PGA. PEACE, Mike ![]() |

I am glad for Hotel Rwanda! I am still assured it'll get a Best Picture nom, even more likely than Finding Neverland at the moment. I think the last spot will be between Eternal Sunshine, Finding Neverland and Ray. |

Still not going to happen. Unlike Return of the King, Chicago, A Beautiful Mind, Traffic, Rwanda doesn't have the stamp of approval from critics awards, and it doesn't have the critic wins that even Eternal sunshine, Finding Neverland or even Ray are getting. It doesn't have the box office (yet? but it probably won't). It's guild awards are going to few because its technical aspects aren't of real note, and Terry George is not being propped up as a prime canidate for director. Rwanda will not get a PGA nom, it says nothing about it's chances though, the PGA tends to ignore smaller films (In fact you'll probably see The Passion of the Christ nominated here, The Aviator, Million Dollar Baby, maybe Sideways... big films, and huge indies). I still think it's chances are mere vapor. It's pretty clear to me now that Rwanda tied with Kinsey for that magical 5th/6th slot on the Golden Globes sheet. |
