So, what does everyone predict for the Globes winners? Will there be any surprise wins? Will there be any surprises in general (drunk stars embarrassing themselves, people with perplexed reactions)? Who will do the worst job at acting surprised? Who will cry? Who will majorly fuck up their presentation speech? Anything else I've missed? I've actually been thinking about the Best Picture - Comedy/Musical category now. What is going to happen now? We haven't really discussed the Globes in relation to the guilds support now. Little Miss Sunshine just swept the Guilds with nominations in the big four: PGA, DGA, WGA and SAG Ensemble. Suddenly, Little Miss Sunshine is a big contender. Before hand, it seemed obvious Dreamgirls was going to win Best Picture (Comedy/Musical), but now I could see Little Miss Sunshine having a legitimate chance of winning. I also don't think Clint has any chance of winning, both because he is double nommed and because the Guilds showed zero support for him or his films. Will Iwo Jima win Best Foreign Film? I'm counting down to the Globes... ready to see the stars. ![]() Peace, Mike. |

Marty will win Best Director, that's a lock. Might be interesting to see what wins the Best Musical or Comedy Picture: LMS or Dreamgirls. If LMS wins, it would be a nice boost for its Oscar prospects. |

I suspect the HFPA will be sufficiently dazzled by Dreamgirls. I think it'll win. Drama picture is where the intrigue is. And Best Actor Drama. O'Toole or Whitaker or Smith? |

Pan's Labryinth will win Best Foreign Film. Scorsese director... duh. Mirren, Whitaker(O'Toole is not owed at the Globes, if he wins here that would pretty much assure it with the extra correcting the past votes, but I don't think he will), Departed, and yes I think Little Miss Sunshine will upset. |

It won't be showing on the west coast live, and I don't want to be spoiled, so probably won't see me from 5 until 11pm PST on Monday. |

Luckily Kiefer can watch his show (if he so chooses) as they'll be done taping the Globes when 24 airs in the West Coast. ![]() (On second thought, I'll just go ahead and watch the East Coast feed of the Globes). |

It actually will be interesting to see how 24 holds up against the Globes (or the other way around, in a perfect world). Then 24 will go balls-to-balls with Heroes the week after. I say 24 got the bigger set in the pants. |

Predictions: Best Picture - Drama: The Departed Best Picture - M/C: Dreamgirls Actress - Drama: Helen Mirren - The Queen Actor - Drama: Forest Whitaker – The Last King Of Scotland Actress - M/C: Meryl Streep - The Devil Wears Prada Actor - M/C: Sacha Cohen – Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan Best Director: Martin Scorsese – The Departed Supp. Actress: Jennifer Hudson - Dreamgirls Supp. Actor: Brad Pitt, Babel Animated Film: Cars Foreign Language Film: Letters From Iwo Jima Screenplay: The Departed Score: Babel Song: "Listen" - Dreamgirls This way the wins are spread out like the Globes like to do. The two Best Picture winners get 3 wins each (The Departed and Dreamgirls), and Babel (2) and The Queen (1) also get their notices. Little Miss Sunshine was ignored by the Globes in a way, so it doesn't really have a chance to win anything. If it was given a screenplay nomination, I would have given LMS a win there, but alas, LMS didn't get a nomination. Borat, Letters from Iwo Jima, and The Devil Wears Prada also bring home awards too. Peace, Mike. |

Didn't really know where else to post this (or if anyone else had), but Sacha Baron Cohen finally did an interview for NPR as... Sacha Baron Cohen. Borat makes an appearance, though, I believe. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... Id=6723074 |

Possible upsets, I'm thinking: Babel or The Queen winning over The Departed Inarritu or Frears over Scorsese Johnny Depp over Sacha |
