Whoa, Nicholson for Leo! No Pitt! No Sheen! Yozwa! Good for Breslin, just might save her. |

The only reason bobby got nominated was because half the SAG members were in the film. |

Way to go Little Miss Sunshine. ![]() Best Actress is no officially over if it wasn't so already. I'm surprised they went with DiCaprio over Nicholson. |

So stupid for making Leo eligible for supporting actor. That hurts "The Departed" |

Please, I've been predicting Bobby for Ensemble since I sawa the cast. Half the membership is in that movie. (I wrote this joke before I saw Neo's post, so don't accuse me of plagiarizing. It's really just a known fact that everyone with half-decent acting chops or less WAS in that film) Hell, I've been predicting that exact five for ensemble for 3 months now. Boooooring. No Cohen. DAMN. But I'll just replace him with Gosling. And Leo has officially shot himself in the foot. No Oscar for YOU. Expected five for Actress since October except for hopeful shakers like me. Ugh. CRAZY Supp. Actor. I say Leo's nom shoots down Wahlberg's shots. And no Nicholson. . .nutty. I also wonder if Pitt can survive this snub. Oh, and Haley looks in, along with Hounsu and Arkin. Just replace Leo with Jack and I think we have the Supporting Actor line-up right there. I guess Kikuchi and Barraza means I will indeed have to predict them both. I'd say Breslin's nom helps her, but SAG loves child actresses, so this could be an exception. But AMPAS loves child actresses too. . . Overall, this shook Supp. Actor all to hell, and Actor is officially facing the prospect of no Leo, like I've been saying since the WB said they were campaigning Blood Diamond. I'd also say Gosling is in, taking Cohen's spot (Who needed this to stay in the game). |

BOR-ING, except for noms like Bobby and Djimon Hounsou, both of which are the exact nonsense I expect frm SAG. |

loyalfromlondon wrote: Things really worked out great for Murphy. It's an easy win for him. Arkin won't win, nor will Hounsou. DiCaprio has the wrong placement, so that leaves Haley. And Murphy > Haley. The wrong placement helps DiCaprio since he is a lead and probably has more screentime than any of the other nominees. My predictions: Actor Peter O'Toole, Venus Actress Helen Mirren, The Queen Supporting Actor Leonardo DiCaprio, The Departed Supporting Actress Jennifer Hudson, Dreamgirls (Although I can see an upset in this category) Ensemble Little Miss Sunshine |

So far, the actors to score with "Critics Choice" (BFCA), Globes, and SAG: Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role Leonardo DiCaprio, Blood Diamond - CC, GG, SAG Peter O'Toole, Venus -CC, GG, SAG Will Smith, The Pursuit of Happyness - CC, GG, SAG Forest Whitaker, The Last King of Scotland - CC, GG, SAG Leonardo DiCaprio, The Departed - CC, GG, SAG (Supporting) Ryan Gosling, Half Nelson - SAG Weird that Leo has resonated so well with people in Blood Diamond. Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role Penélope Cruz, "Volver" Judi Dench, "Notes on a Scandal" Helen Mirren, "The Queen" Meryl Streep, "The Devil Wears Prada" Kate Winslet, "Little Children" You know they've all made the three and the only other actress to make it in with then was Maggie Gyllenhaal in a small indie that made less than a million dollars that has no chance in hell. Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role Eddie Murphy, Dreamgirls - CC, GG, SAG Leonardo DiCaprio, The Departed - CC (Lead), GG (Lead), SAG Alan Arkin, Little Miss Sunshine - CC, SAG Djimon Hounsou, Blood Diamond - CC, SAG Ben Affleck, Hollywoodland - CC, GG Jack Nicholson, The Departed - CC, GG Adam Beach, Flags of Our Fathers - CC Mark Wahlberg, GG Brad Pitt, Babel - GG Jackie Earle Haley, Little Children - SAG Ten different nominees, with only one scoring at all three(Go Murphy!) plus Michael Sheen who has been winning critics awards for a perf in a certain BP nominee. What a cray-zay category. Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role Adriana Barraza, Babel - CC, GG, SAG Cate Blanchett, Notes on a Scandal - CC, GG, SAG Jennifer Hudson, Dreamgirls - CC, GG, SAG Rinko Kikuchi, Babel - CC, GG, SAG Abigail Breslin, Little Miss Sunshine - SAG Emma Thompson, Stranger Than Fiction - CC Catherine O'Hara, For Your Consideration - CC Emily Blunt, The Devil Wears Prada - GG Four spots locked up, four more actresses fighting for the last spot. Eh. |

Leo is an obviously misplaced nominee, as shown by his noms at CC and GG. SAG voters aren't stupid. As for Murphy, I think I was being a bit nutty with Hounsou (Though people DO love Blood Diamond). Murphy wins. |

Great nominations. Happy to see Haley, Breslin, Gosling and Arkin! I really think that even though DiCaprio is nominated here in supporting for The Departed, he'll go lead at the Oscars. I have a hunch that it will go the way of Jennifer Connelly in 2001 with A Beautiful Mind. She was nominated here as lead but at the Oscars she went supporting. I also don't think Hounsou will be nominated at all at the Oscars. I see Nicholson, Wahlberg, Pitt and Michael Sheen battling it out for the last two spots. I also see one of the Supporting Actresses missing out at the Oscars, probably Barraza or Breslin(I hope not). These are my predictions for the win: Lead Actor- Forest Whitaker, The Last King of Scotland (Still see him losing the Oscar though) Lead Actress- Helen Mirren, The Queen Supporting Actor- Leonardo DiCaprio, The Departed Supporting Actress- Jennifer Hudson, Dreamgirls |

You know LMS is fighting for that fifth spot, right? Um, no. It's safe and cozy in the 4th spot. ![]() Sorry bud, Departed and Queen are locked and Dreamgirls and Babel can only get killed by DGA snubs. After that, you have Iwo Jima, LMS and UA93. And maybe Bobby. But at the moment Babel/Departed/Dreamgirls/Letters/Queen looks like an unbreakable five. |

I mean, she also won the Globe. |
