Post Man, I'm Really Loving This Year!
Its not like I like, or have even seen all the movies in contention, but this is a crazy year, and the lack of stream-lining leading up to the Oscars is making this all very exciting. Don't you guys think? There are minimum two spots in each category that aren't secure. Best Actor? Maybe two people's noms are secure (Dicaprio for Departed and Whittaker for Last King) and the other three could go to an insane comedy breakout (Cohen) and a star in a movie that grossed less than 3 million (Gosling). And there's still a third spot! Even Best Picture has maybe two secure nominations (Queen and Departed) I'm still waiting to see Letter's reception, unlike everyone else here. The collapse of Flags may be disastrous for it. DReamgirls is all over the place, and there seems to be odd love for Devil Wears Prada in the post-season. Who is even in the supporting actress field right now (except Hudson). Seriously, the other four spots are all up for grabs!

I like this alot better than previous years when the front-runners were so clear, so early on. And where the final two BP noms had less to do with their film making 9Brokeback would have won hands down if that was the case) and more to do with their perceived politics (also, good, but makes it less fun when its...that...obvious). If it had really been about the subtle mix of politics and filmmaking, Capote or GNAGL would have actually won. :-P

Anyways, its really great not knowning who is going to end up where, and changing your predictions every day. Keeps it fresh!

But yeah, it's a fun ride this season.

You're not? Then how do you take into account new information? I mean, geesh, if our president had taken new information into account at least once in the past 5 years the current global climate could look quite different. I'm a big fan or changing one's mind when glaring evidence emerges before one's eyes!

Very fun ride! And no hate on my part. There isn't a single title/name that has been tossed around that I truly despise. So, whoever wins, even if I am dissappointed its not my #1 choice, at least I won't be banging my head against a wall and swearing off Hollywood for eternity.

I can't believe Little Miss Sunshine and Borat are going to get as much attention as I bet they're going to.
