Lots of Little Miss Sunshine and Half Nelson love. Loyal is gonna LOVE these. And the Paul Dano love makes me 
Something I find interesting though is that, outside of Little Miss Sunshine, these are very low-key nominees, especially after awarding Brokeback Mountain last year and Sideways the year before. |

Veeeery interesting sup. actor nominees. Paul Dano (instead of Steve Carell - guess they don't consider him indie enough, eheh), Daniel Craig, ... and Channing Tatum!!! lool Cool. And Soderbergh got nominated for Bubble! Really good for Little Miss Sunshine and specially Half Nelson, which seems to be headed for at least oscar nominations for Gosling and Screenplay (maybe Shareeka Epps, who knows...)
I also noticed the lack of real oscar contenders this year. The cerimony won't be as big (in terms of media exposure) as last year's I think. The only people with a chance: Ryan Gosling, Edward Norton, Alan Arkin, Shareeka Epps and Catherine O'Hara (very slim for these two). |

With The Queen, Little Children, and The Last King of Scotland being ineligible, the options are pretty limited for ISA, and I'm happy to see the low-key films getting recognized; more in line with the spirit of awarding real independent film-making. The Painted Veil did fine, but no Naomi Watts. I think it's retarded to nominate LMS and HN in Best First Screenplay instead of Best Screenplay, especially considering they're nominated in Best Feature, not Best First Feature. Can't have it both ways. |

I'm so glad Abigail Breslin was snubbed for her incredibly overrated performance in Little Miss Sunshine! She was better in Signs! I truly hope LMS doesn't receive a Best Picture nomination. It's so undeserving. I wish The Illusionist had the buzz LMS has. Anyways, it's too bad Maggie Gyllenhaal and Sherrybaby were ignored, but woo-hoo about The Illusionist being recognized! |
