Who was the Gentleman? I never could figure it out. Too much bare chest.

Despite the rough and tough exterior, Louis Gossett Jr. is the ultimate gentleman!

A film about a white, handsome young American officer in WW2, who befriends a black officer in the navy who is facing prejudice, and who has a sexy, white, young, blonde girlfriend to whom he writes and whom he will marry, who is stationed in France, and fights the evil Nazis, who ends up liberating a concentration camp, with grateful inmates kissing him, him being horrified, etc., who goes back to America, raises a family, deals with alcoholism, has fights with his wife, decides to first become a fireman, and then a politician with liberal values, who stands up for the little man, and who goes to Washington and makes some kind of difference, whose wife dies of cancer, giving him a great, emotional scene in which he tells their children about the death, who becomes a widower who has our hearts in his pockets, who retires from politics and moves to New York City, who sees the planes crashing into the WTC from his window, who decides it's time for him to perform one last, heroic act, and who thus dons the fireman suit, runs to the towers, rescues many people of different races and backgrounds, who finally tries to rescue, and succeeds in doing so, a girl, preferrably white with big blue eyes, all the while, having flashbacks of his wife and him together when young, and who thus musing, with the towers about to collapse and crush him, finally dies a glorious death while in the background, we hear Celine Dion belting a magnificently bombastic song destined to become a great symphonic symbol of mediocrity.

You left out just one thing: some kind of mental disability or disorder. Otherwise, it's near perfect.
