Pretty much the oppisite.

I say: Paul Giamatti for Sideways.

Any others.

I just KNEW the heartless bastards would snub Giamatti last year.

Dennis Quaid -Supporting Actor, Far From Heaven (This was inexcusable.)

Baz Luhrman- Director, Moulin Rouge (I hate the movie, but this was simply bizarre)

Almost Famous- Best Picture

And it's a small thing, but snubbing Mick Jagger's song "Old Habits Die Hard" from Alfie last year was as goofy as they come.

I strongly agree on "Old Habit's Die Hard." It won the globe, but snubbed by Oscar? It was easily the most popular of the bunch.

And the only one that didn't make my ears bleed.

While we're on the music branch's case, Michael Giacchino's The Inredibles score, the best thing about a disappointing movie. I don't know how they overlooked it. And Sideways' score, for that matter!

It wasn't a shock either.

I agree on Luhrman and Almost Famous. I wasn't that surprised about Quaid's snub.

House of Flying Daggers for Foreign Film comes to mind. I knew the foreign category was always tricky, but I was still shocked to see that. Also The Planet of Apes for Makeup.
