Find it interesting to see Ziyi here, since the awards are traditionally dominated by African-American films. But if Asians are OK, why no Ang Lee?

Call me crazy, but Syriana is neither Independent nor Foreign, correct?

What's the point of a racist awards show?

Shit like that bothers me- they should be honoring excellence in film, not excellence in skin color. Yes, because Chris Anderson and Ashanti really deserve awards for their "acting"

Yeah, that's the biggest problem here. Okay Crash, Okay Hustle & Flow, but if these awards are going to be the "anybody but white people" awards then there are a lot of other films here that would be better than Coach Carter.

Well, someone might pick up on the fact that it's racist, so they threw in an Asian. I think that's the only logical reason... I mean, I liked Ziyi just fine in Geisha, but I would have picked a better nonWhite performance if I was going to get all picky.

Ziyi's accent is thicker than Ang's.

I think that's their criteria.

Frankly, Cache speaks more to NAACP discourse than Hitch does. I'm all for doing film selection dealing with contemporary race image/ideals/issues, but the NAACP is being so near sighted they needed lasik surgery yesterday already.

Btw, why not Jamie Foxx in Jarhead.

He was the best part of the film!

I don't even remember who Larenz Tate is. Is he the locksmith?

Tim Story for Fantastic Four? Hahahahahahahah

Why do they call it "Outstanding Motion Picture"?

Shouldn't it be "Outstanding Motion Picture starring an African American/About African Americans"?

Yeah. Y'know honestly I thought he was better in this then just about anyone else, certainly Don Cheadle whose work in this just really wasn't up to par with what he's delivered in the past.
