Kaguya is also not very good.
Okay, well I obviously disagree.... As do whoever makes these nominations. I loved it.
In response to zackworm's comment that this category is for the kiddies, I generally disagree.... Most of the time they get it right. But the 'competition' is not always laudable....
In 2001 the Oscars got it wrong the very first year of this category (Monsters, Inc. should have won over Shrek),
got it right in a no-brainer in 2002 (Spirited Away over Spirit: Cinnamon of the Starrion, Ice Age, Treasure Planet, and Lilo & Stitch??? blech),
right again in 2003 & 2004 with Finding Nemo, Incredibles, (modern classics, in my world are nominated for BP too)
2005 IMO should've been Howl's Moving Castle over Wallace & Gromit, 2006 sucked but I still agree with Happy Feet over Cars,
2007 & 2008 are correct with Ratatouille and WALL-E (two of the greats of this era, both deserved BP noms),
2009 they got wrong but had a remarkable cateogory: [UP, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Secret of Kells, and Princess & the Frog] Winner should have been Mary & Max (not nominated), followed by FaMrFox, Coraline, SecretKells
2010 was correct with Toy Story 3 over HTTYD and Illusionist, 2011 and 2012 were kind of WTF??? years for this category, 2013 was *shrugsville* but how can you bet against Frozen? (Except that it was kind of creepy and not ALL that great)
Hoping for a hand-drawn winner this year.
