I was thinking Dreamgirls easily was going to get the most nominations (it would be a surprise for me if The Departed or The Queen garnered enough - they just aren't "big production-y" enough) but now Babel is getting a nomination in what feels like every single friggin' Guild. It might actually lead on Oscar nomination day. Which I hope doesn't happen, because then it might lend more credence to it winning Best Picture.

Please PGA, give it to Dreamgirls or The Departed. Not Babel.

Peace,
Mike.

Do you just have something against musicals in general?

I think he doesn't like the idea of sing-talking, which are easily the best musicals IMO.

Sound of Music pwns.

Without seeing some of the classics in the great history of film musicals for context, you have not earned the right to discuss musicals at all...

I'm still not nearly ready to predict a winner (especially considering nominations aren't even out yet), but I will say that I think, at this current moment in time, Dreamgirls is the most likely winner. Not saying it will win, mind you, but...yeah.
