 Re: Best Actor 2014
Still not sold on Carell going Lead.
I'm thinking Spall, Redmayne, Cumberbatch, Cooper and Keaton.

 Re: Best Actor 2014
I think Michael Keaton has it in the bag unless Cumberbatch really is incredible in Imitation Game.

Yeah, most likely. Truth to be told, though. Felicity Jones outshines him in the film.

 Re: Best Actor 2014
I think if The Imitation Game turns into The King Speech 2.0, then Cumberbatch will win. Though Redmayne's role is super-baity and reminds me of DDL in My Left Foot.

man this is gonna be a tough one. Haven't seen Imitation Game yet but I just saw Theory of Everything and Redmayne's physical performance is amazing.

I think it is a three man race between Keaton, Cumberbatch, and Redmayne. Still give the edge to Keaton right now.

Steve Carell, Foxcatcher Benedict Cumberbatch, The Imitation Game Michael Keaton, Birdman David Oyelowo, Selma Eddie Redmayne, The Theory of Everything
Maybe? This category is hard to call.

 Re: Best Actor 2014
Carell is the most vulnerable. Which I hate to say because I LOVE his performance in Foxcatcher, but if Bradley Cooper gets in, Carell will be the one booted.
They could have campaigned Carell as a supporting actor, though this would wrongly screw Mark Ruffalo's shot at a nod.

 Re: Best Actor 2014
This category is insanely crazy strong with 9-10 really solid contenders. Against all odds, I'm gonna stick with a nom for Timothy Spall. It is a role of a lifetime kind of thing and the Academy likes nominating Mike Leigh's films.

This is gonna be a bloodbath. I expect at least one surprise snub similar to Tom Hanks last year.

I agree that anything is possible, but it is really hard to imagine any of those four missing, especially Cumberbatch and Keaton. That's nearly impossible.

 Re: Best Actor 2014
It seems Jake Gyllenhaal has the best shot at that final slot.

I believe it is:
1. Carell 2. Gyllenhaal or Spall

 Re: Best Actor 2014
I don't think Oyelowo is a lock yet. I believe he will get in, but I think it is more like the final two spots are between him, Gyllenhaal, Carell and Spall.

I love it how Tatum's hopes quickly nosedived.
