 Re: Best Supporting Actor 2011
After seeing Hugo, I'm kind of surprised Kingsley isn't getting more play. Did they put him in the tougher lead category instead?

Hmm, Plummer seems like the most certain thing out of all major categories this year.

Agreed, I have a hard time seeing Drive's violence playing that well with the AMPAs (Beginners is not exactly the King's Speech either, but Plummer has too much cred with them)

I just watched Beginners. If anything I hope Plummer wins over Brooks.

 Re: Best Supporting Actor 2011
This category has three very "due" legends this year in Plummer, Nolte, and von Sydow. You almost wonder if it might become more of a contest. Nolte is the most nominated of the trio, but also has the most personal baggage and the least Oscar friendly film. Oh, and Jonah Hill.

Jonah Hill being an Oscar nominee is kind of a hilarious thought to ponder when you go back and think of something like Superbad. But I did really enjoy him in Moneyball.

Having just seen Warrior, I would be very satisfied with Nolte winning. Now that was a powerful performance.
