I think Babel has a good chance of winning Drama. I still think Departed will walk away with it but I feel like being bold and have Babel in my predictions to win in the other thread.

Best Picture Drama - “The Departed†(Though could be "Babel")
Best Picture Comedy or Musical - “Dreamgirlsâ€Â
Best Actor Drama - Forest Whitaker, “The Last King of Scotlandâ€Â
Best Actress Drama - Helen Mirren, “The Queenâ€Â
Best Actor Comedy or Musical Sacha Baron Cohen - “Borat!: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstanâ€Â
Best Actress – Comedy or Musical Meryl Streep, “The Devil Wears Pradaâ€Â
Best Supporting Actor - Jack Nicholson, “The Departedâ€Â
Best Supporting Actress - Rinko Kikuchi, “Babelâ€Â
Best Director - Martin Scorcese, "The Departed"
Best Song - "Dreamgirls" "Listen"
Best Score - Gustavo Santaolalla, "Babel"
Best Screenplay - Peter Morgan, "The Queen"
Best Foreign Language - "Pan's Labrynth"
Best Animated Film - "Cars"
I really think Rinko Kikuchi will win supporting actress. She deserves it too. DiCaprio could sneak a win from Whittikar too - but his too nominations may cancel each other out.

Best Picture: Drama - The Departed
Best Picture: Musical/Comedy - Dreamgirls
Best Actress: Drama - Helen Mirren, The Queen
Best Actor: Drama - Forest Whitaker, The Last King of Scotland
Best Actor: Musical/Comedy - Sacha Baron Cohen, Borat
Best Actress: Musical/Comedy - Meryl Streep, The Devil Wears Prada
Best Supporting Actor - Jack Nicholson, The Departed
Best Supporting Actress - Jennifer Hudson, Dreamgirls
Best Director - Martin Scorsese, The Departed
Best Screenpaly - The Departed
Best Foreign Film - Pan's Labryinth
I actually think these awards could be very telling towards Dreamgirls power at the Oscars, looking over it now. On one hand, if it has loads of support, it can pick up Musical/Comedy, and both Supporting awards. If it's not, realistically it could get shut out from the major awards to Little Miss Sunshine, Nicholson, and maybe even Blanchett. I'll go with something in the middle.

I don't want Babel to win. It's good as a nominee, not a winner.
The trophey belongs to Departed, dammit.

I'm going to say a few things:
1. Forest Whitaker will NOT win Best Actor. It's going to Smith or DiCaprio. I'm guessing Smith
2. Little Miss Sunshine, despite all the guild support, is not winning BP. Dreamgirls or Borat will. Borat is most loved critically and commercially, and Cohen's also taking home Actor so Borat has the trend going for it (look at my thread from like a month or so ago).
3. Dreamgirls will not take home both Supporting awards.
4. THE DEPARTED, bitches.

I don't know why I'm the only person predicting a Smith win at the Globes. He seems like exactly the type of winner they might reward, given their penchant for loving starry-ness.

I also can't remember the last time the winner was from a movie that only made $5m in the box office. That's the same reason O'Toole won't win.
As I said in my Borat! thread, the voters are journalists, not actors, cinematographers, directors, etc. They might usually award the same "stuff" but it's a completely different crowd.

GOD I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the Globes. The setting is much more relaxed and actors and actresses really loosen up after a few drinks and give great speeches some times. It is also one of the better indicators for the Oscars i think.
Here is my list....
Best Picture Drama = The Departed
Best Actress Drama = Helen Mirren
Best Actor Drama = Forest Whitaker
Best Picture Musical/Comedy = Dreamgirls
Best Actress Musical/comedy = Meryl Streep
Best Actor Musical/Comedy= Sacha Baron Cohen
Best Supporting Actress = Jennifer Hudson
Best Supporting Actor = Eddie Murphy
Best Animated Feature = Happy Feet
Best Foreign Language Film = Letters From Iwo Jima
Best Director = Martin Scorsese
Best Screenplay = Babel
Best Original Score = Babel
Best Original Song = Listen
Pretty much like everyone elses, but i truly believe Hudson and Murphy will dominate the Supporting slots throughout the rest of the awards season. Even though i want Nicholson, Murphy was at the top of his game... And man what a voice!

Have satellite? Even old analog system will be fine, and Astra satellite. Channel is Pro7, and it's free to air, and will have original language.
If no satellite, I recommend downloading Sopcast, or TVU player, and checking their channels. Many channels there, so hopefully Globes will be on one of them.

As much as the Globes really are sort of a crock and don't mean that much, I have to admit I'm a little excited.
I mean, the first award ceremony always gives me Oscar fever.
