I have been sadly disappointed by Mr. Burton far more than I have been pleasantly surprised...

Re: Sweeney Todd Will Win Best Picture So this is probably my most-anticipated movie of the rest of the year. The broadway version was ok, but it nearly doubled my anticipation for the film version. I am really looking forward to what Helena Bonham Carter will do...the actress in the musical was amazing.

Re: Sweeney Todd Will Win Best Picture the RT reviews are good, but being a musical makes winning BP very hard, especially being a musical as strange as this, and I think to have a shot at winning BP, it would need to up its avg [which is currently an 8/10] to an 8.3 or higher. It may sound picky, but it faces such strong competition that winning would NOT be easy for it.

The competition is also bloody, but I can't say Sweeney will win at this point. I think if they pussy out from No Country and There Will Be Blood, they'd be more likely to give it to... gasp... Re: Sweeney Todd Will Win Best Picture as I've said, the RT is great, but to be a certain BP nom, I think 90% or higher would've been better. It's such a strange film [at least, I expect nothing less from Burton] that it could never be a mortal lock for something like a BP nom in a competitive year like this.
