GOOOOO JACKIE EARLE HALEY.
I think it's great that Oklahoma critics liked Borat.
Oklahoma.

I'm getting really frustrated every time I see a new Forest Whitaker win. His performance, unlike Mirren's, is not head and shoulders above everybody else. Hell, it's not actually above everybody else. OK performance, middling movie. I don't get it.

Casino!
Blanchett has won in the last 3 critics circles announced.
No matter how many awards Whitaker wins, I'm still not convinced he has any advantage or footing over O'Toole, let alone the locked win. The deal is that O'Toole is owed jack all at these precursors, and Whitaker has easily the best performance... there's no reason why Forest shouldn't win all of them. Once on the ballot though, THEN O'Toole's past comes into play, and people will vote for him because of that. They aren't doing it here, because there's no reason to.

Yeah I saw Notes on a Scandal tonight. Blanchett was wonderful, but I have a hard time seeing her actually win (especially again). Her performance is incredibly less showy than Judi Dench.

Yeah, Dreamgirls got snubbed again. Surprising? Not really.
I'm seeing Notes on a Scandal early next month, until then I can't comment on Blanchett.
