Best Movie of the year. Maybe tied with Batman Begins...need to rewatch that.
Best art direction and special effects of the year.
Watts is great.
Two scenes really had me whispering "wow". I mean really breathtaking stuff.
At 3+ hours, it doesn't drag. Something I can't say about FOTR.
I hope it gets a BP nom at least.
Also, the new The Da Vinci Code trailer is nice.

Hmmmm... interesting.
To be honest, I was never looking forward to this and still am not hyped up about. I really want to see it because the large amount of attention it's gonna recieve but moreso now the mass amount of attention it has already recieved from critics.
I probably won't see it till Sunday, but this makes me really optimistic.

Kong picked up an ASC nom while losing out on Makeup. Two more techs will be announced on Friday (Editing and Art Design). With no PGA or DGA love, all Kong has left are the techs to push it into BP contention.
It's back is against the wall at this point.

There is a chance, albeit small, that Jackson will receive a nom while Kong itself won't. If anything, King Kong is Jackson's baby and I have seen him receive several nominations for the movie without the movie itself getting a nom (see the Golden Globes).

Dr. Lecter you just don't get, "it." I don't know what Aeon Flux has but bradley knows, "it," and you don't.

Actually, Aeon Flux's star - Charlize Theron, and co-star - Frances McDormand, are both nominated for Oscars this year!

Even worse for Dr. Lecter, Hollywood rumors have it that because of the low BO for both North Country and Aeon Flux, that these two actresses were nominated for their "body of work" in 2005. I also heard rumors that Aeon Flux was a close sixth for nominee for Best Picture, unfortunately though, we'll never know just how close. It's all up to future fans of quality "hard sci-fi" to discover this gem in the future...
